Griffin Easter Wins Ranxo Gravel, Clinching 2nd Overall in the 2024 Gravel Earth Series

It’s been an absolute pleasure following Griffin Easter of Team Opicure as he’s carved out a name for himself in the 2024 gravel racing season. Griffin’s journey began with a bang, claiming the overall win at Colombia’s grueling Trans Cordilleras. He followed that up with a 3rd place at the Lifetime Grand Prix and a solid 5th at Gravel Nationals.
Griffin’s first race in the Gravel Earth Series, the Traka in Spain, earned him a commendable 7th place finish. However, it was his 2nd overall at the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder on home turf in Bend, Oregon, that catapulted him into top contender status for the series.

When we caught up with Griffin, he was already eyeing a return trip to Spain for the Gravel Earth Ranxo Series finale. Here’s what he had to say about his unforgettable experience:
"After a savage attack on the final climb from Pete Stetina, I moved to the front and went all in. Near the top, before the descent, I kicked one last time to secure my position. I had ridden the descent two days prior with my friend Dylan Stucki—it was technical, narrow, and fast. Knowing that, I pushed the pace. By the bottom, I realized I was alone. Not knowing how far back everyone was, I decided it was now or never. I went into time trial mode, forearms out front, and gave it everything I had. I was shouting at myself, ‘Let’s go! Now’s the time!’ And somehow, I held off the chase to finish solo and win the Ranxo Gravel. It bumped me from 9th to 2nd overall in the series standings. An absolute dream day! The Spinergy GXX wheels performed perfectly, with speed, responsiveness, and compliance."
